Rental Agreement Terms

These Rental Agreement Terms ("Agreement") govern the rental of vehicles from Road to Gold Rentals LLC ("Company," "we," or "us") by the renter ("you" or "Renter"). By completing a booking and taking possession of a vehicle, you agree to all terms below.

2. Renter Eligibility

• Minimum age: 21 years old
• Valid U.S. driver's license required at time of pickup
• No major driving violations (DUI/DWI, reckless driving) within the past 5 years
• Valid auto insurance or willingness to purchase rental coverage

3. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of $200 is required before vehicle pickup. The deposit will be refunded within 24–48 hours of vehicle return, provided:

• The vehicle is returned in the same condition as pickup (normal wear excepted)
• There are no outstanding fees, tolls, or traffic violations
• The fuel tank is returned at the same level as pickup (full preferred)
• The vehicle interior is in a reasonably clean condition

4. Insurance Requirements

All renters must carry valid auto insurance that covers rental vehicles, or must purchase rental coverage prior to pickup. Road to Gold Rentals LLC maintains commercial auto liability insurance ($1M combined single limit) covering the vehicle. However, the Renter is responsible for:

• Collision and comprehensive coverage for damage to the rental vehicle
• Liability coverage for bodily injury or property damage to third parties
• Any deductible amounts under their own insurance policy

5. Vehicle Use Restrictions

The rental vehicle may only be operated by the Renter identified in the booking. The vehicle shall NOT be used for:

• Any illegal purpose or activity
• Rideshare services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) unless expressly authorized in writing
• Towing, pushing, or transporting hazardous materials
• Off-road driving or racing
• Driving outside the state of California without prior written approval
• Subleasing or lending to any other person
• Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substance

6. Mileage Policy

All rentals include unlimited mileage within the state of California. Out-of-state travel requires prior written approval and may be subject to additional fees.

7. Fuel Policy

Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel. Renters are expected to return the vehicle with the same fuel level. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refueling charge of market-rate fuel cost plus a $20 service fee will be deducted from the security deposit.

8. Vehicle Pickup and Return

• Pickup Location: Palmdale, California (exact address provided upon confirmation)
• Delivery: Available upon request within the Antelope Valley area; delivery fees may apply
• Pickup Time: Coordinated directly with the owner
• Return Time: Vehicle must be returned by the agreed-upon date and time

9. Late Returns

Late returns are charged at the daily rate of $80 per day for each day beyond the agreed return date. A grace period of one (1) hour is provided. The Renter must notify Road to Gold Rentals as soon as possible if a late return is anticipated. Failure to return the vehicle within 48 hours of the scheduled return date without prior arrangement may be reported as unauthorized use.

10. Damage and Accidents

In the event of any accident, damage, or mechanical issue:

• Contact Road to Gold Rentals immediately at (323) 949-4959
• If applicable, file a police report and obtain the report number
• Do not attempt repairs without authorization
• Do not admit fault at the scene of an accident
• Document damage with photos and exchange information with other parties

The Renter is responsible for all damage to the vehicle during the rental period, including damage caused by weather, vandalism, or theft, subject to insurance coverage.

11. Smoking and Pet Policy

• Smoking: Strictly prohibited inside the vehicle. A $150 cleaning fee will be charged for any evidence of smoking (cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or marijuana).
• Pets: Allowed with prior approval only. A cleaning fee of up to $100 may apply if excessive pet hair, stains, or odors are found upon return.

12. Cancellation Policy

• 48+ hours before pickup: Full refund, no cancellation fee
• Less than 48 hours before pickup: Cancellation fee of $80 (one day's rental)
• No-show: Full first-day rental payment forfeited

13. Roadside Assistance

Road to Gold Rentals provides 24/7 phone support for any vehicle issues during the rental period. Contact Eddie Ashley directly at (323) 949-4959. In the event of a mechanical breakdown not caused by the Renter, Road to Gold Rentals will arrange for repair or replacement at no additional cost to the Renter.

14. Traffic Violations and Tolls

The Renter is solely responsible for all traffic citations, parking tickets, toll charges, and any associated administrative fees incurred during the rental period. If Road to Gold Rentals receives any such charges, the amount plus a $25 administrative fee will be charged to the Renter.

15. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
